A day visiting

Last holidays I had a happy day visiting our old friends Peter and Judith in Oatley.

It was a nice sunny day. My husband and I went to visit Peter and Judith at about 10am. When we arrived, we were very happy to say hello, and it seemed like a long time that we hadn't seen each other. Actually we hadn't seen them since last Christmas.

After a few minutes they took us to look at their garden. We were amazed. When we were there last, their garden had nothing planted in it. Now it had all changed. There were some beautiful flowers, different kinds of plants and few fruit trees. They also had lovely rabbits, pigeons, dogs, chickens and fishes. It was an amazing garden!

At morning teatime they told us about why the things had changed. They have been retired since last year. Their daughter and son are all living near them. They have four grandchildren. Their grandkids all love animals. Now when the grandkids  finish school each day they visit their grandparents. The first thing they do is go to look at the pets.  Peter and Judith are happy to see their grandchildren but I think that they have a lot of jobs to do everyday. However, they enjoy looking after the animals, and we could see it on their happy faces.
During tea time, we  talked about our everyday life. Sometimes we were laughing loudly because we were all excited.

It was nearing lunch so Judith went to the kitchen to prepare food. Suddenly Peter remembered that he missed showing us one thing, so he went to his storage cupboard and took out a gourd for us. When we saw it, we were excited. The gourd had grown so big!  It was about 2 meters long. It was amazing. We couldn't believe it, but it was true. I took a photo of it quickly so I could show it on Facebook soon.

At one o'clock, we had lunch. Judith is a good cook. We enjoyed the delicious homemade food known as Jiaozi. During lunchtime we were talking and  laughing happily, so the time went quickly. Not long afterwards, it was the time to leave.

We all enjoyed the happy catch up. We invited them to visit us as soon as possible. We will be looking forward to it!
